About Tann

TANN makes working objects and treats them as such. The GR01 apron is cut in Portugal from 400 GSM heavy cotton canvas — dense, abrasion-resistant, and chosen because it softens with use rather than wearing out. Beside it sit aprons cut from cloth that already had a first life: 1980s Italian Navy deadstock denim, and 1990s Romanian army tent and poncho fabric, finished with sharp white contrast stitching.

The GR04 comb is machined from TA1 titanium, the purest commercially used grade of the metal, in Yangjiang — a Chinese city with a centuries-old trade in blades and precision tools. It is anti-static, corrosion-proof and almost weightless, and every tooth is cut to glide without pulling or snagging. It is meant to be kept, not replaced.

What runs through all of it is a preference for permanence over replacement, and for material that tells the truth about itself: work as ritual, tool as companion.

At Flavio's you will find TANN aprons, the GR04 titanium comb and the GR02 waxed cotton cap.
