"Loden-Joppe" by Seisser & Cie. - Fawn-brown cloth Loden from Bavaria, Heritage cut
The "Loden-Joppe" Jacket, finely lined with cotton. A timeless classic, handmade with a matching pocket square - Heritage cut.
What is fine loden? Loden is a particularly fine, densely woven wool fabric that undergoes an elaborate process of fulling, raising the nap, and shearing to achieve a supple, velvety, yet sturdy surface. Unlike rough mountain loden, it has a smoother feel yet is just as durable, wind- and water-repellent—and surprisingly lightweight to wear. The lined loden jacket from Seisser is therefore the ideal companion for fall and winter.
Traditions: We uphold them authentically:
For generations, Seisser & Cie. have been crafting handmade jackets and “travel jackets” using the same traditional craftsmanship that once clothed King Ludwig on his wild boar hunts in the Spessart and Emperor Franz Joseph on his hunts in Styria. For this, the Seisser company in Graz was awarded the title of Imperial and Royal Court Purveyor—and supplied the House of Seisser in Bavaria with authentic Steyr loden. They carry on this tradition—which also means working regionally and preserving fine craftsmanship! Manufactured exclusively in Germany using sustainable, short supply chains, authentic (expensive materials), and lots of handwork—rare—but true.
100% handmade. Made to be passed down through generations.

Munich, and a family in the Bavarian cloth trade since 1773 — selling loden from around 1840, and by 1880 running a loden and traditional-dress department on Marienplatz. The house works only with small manufactures and makers it holds a stake in: loden and tweed from Austria, Bavaria and Scotland, linen from Spain and Portugal, hand-woven cloth from the Aosta Valley, deer and calf leather tanned as naturally as possible. Woven Seisser collars, hand-stitched buttonholes — they don’t invent traditions, as they put it, they tend them.
