Cookie Policy

Which cookies we use, why, and how you control them.

Effective from 1 July 2026 · Version 2.0

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on flavios.store, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences. It complements our Privacy Policy.

In one paragraph:

We use a small number of cookies to make the marketplace work, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the site. You decide what to allow when you first visit. You can change your choice at any time via the cookie settings link in our footer.

01. What is a cookie

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. It allows the site to remember things about your visit — like keeping you logged in, holding items in your basket, or measuring which pages people read most.

Some cookies are essential for the site to work; others help us improve, and some are used for marketing. We treat them differently.

02. How you control them

When you first visit flavios.store, a banner asks you to choose what to allow. You have three options:

  • Accept all — all cookie categories are enabled.
  • Reject non-essential — only strictly necessary cookies are used.
  • Customise — choose category by category.

You can change your choice at any time by clicking the cookie settings link in the footer of every page. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect how the site works.

03. Categories of cookies we use

We group cookies into three categories. The first is always on; the others only run with your consent.

Strictly necessary

Without these, the marketplace doesn't work. They handle session state, your basket, login status, and security. No consent is required (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, § 25(2) TTDSG).

Examples: Shopify checkout cookies, cart cookies, security tokens.

Functional

These remember preferences like your language, region, or whether you've dismissed a banner. They make the site nicer to use but aren't strictly required.

We only set these with your consent.

Analytics & marketing

These help us understand how visitors find and use the site, and let us measure marketing campaigns. They may share data with our partners (e.g. Meta, Google) for measurement and audience-building.

We only set these with your consent. Specifically, when consented:

  • Shopify Analytics — site usage, conversion measurement (Shopify Inc., Canada).
  • Meta Pixel — Facebook/Instagram campaign measurement (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Ireland; data may be processed by Meta Platforms Inc., USA).
  • Google Ads & Analytics — campaign measurement, audience building (Google Ireland Ltd., Ireland; data may be processed by Google LLC, USA).
  • Klaviyo — newsletter and email engagement analytics (Klaviyo Inc., USA).

04. Detailed list of cookies

The exact cookies set on a given visit depend on your consent choices. Below is an overview of the most important cookies we may use.

Name Provider Purpose Duration
_shopify_y Shopify Customer ID for site analytics 1 year
_shopify_s Shopify Session ID for site analytics Session

This list is not exhaustive — third-party services may set additional cookies. Your browser's developer tools show every cookie active on a given visit.

05. Transfers outside the EU

Some of our cookie providers (Meta, Google, Klaviyo) are based in the USA. Where data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR) or, where applicable, on adequacy decisions like the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

US authorities may, under certain conditions, have access to data held by US providers. You acknowledge this when consenting to non-essential cookies.

06. Your rights

Most rights related to cookies overlap with the rights described in our Privacy Policy: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent. To exercise any right, write to hello@flavios.store.

Right to lodge a complaint

If you believe we've mishandled your data, you can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority for Schleswig-Holstein is: Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz (ULD), Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel — datenschutzzentrum.de.

07. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices, the law, or our service providers change. The version in force at any time is the version posted on this page; substantial changes will be communicated to you in advance, where reasonably possible.
