A widow in Ginosa started taking in sewing in 1955. Her grandson Angelo runs the house now, from the same atelier on Via Isola Caprera in the old town — where every shirt is still cut and finished by hand. Not partly. Not just the important bits.
Swiss cotton, Australian mother-of-pearl buttons, and edges finished in ways that carry names of their own: ventaglio, cavallino, smerlo, galletto, regina.
